She's Crafty!

I LOVE that Clem gets to be messy, rowdy and crafty at school. Her teachers do such a great job letting kids be kids! I also LOVE that our refrigerator is already covered in art projects!

Here's her finger painted school bus:

And her finger print painted autumn tree:
Her finger painted pumpkin:And handprint painted turkey!
One new skill Clem is working on at daycare is using a spoon independently. It's so cute to see all the babies lined up at the table eating breakfast with their spoons and bibs! At home, Clem hasn't quite got this whole spoon eating down yet. She's tries her best but it doesn't always go as planned.

I love that she holds her spoon in one hand and shovels mandarin orange slices into her mouth with the other!

She's got the idea--but got the handle in her mouth!

She thinks this is pretty fun!
When all else fails...

I am in Love

Last night my sister was admitted to the hospital for an induction. That little man has gotten so comfortable, he didn't want to come out--even though Sissy's blood pressure and swelling had gotten a little scary.
She called me at 6pm to say she was admitted and they started making progress. She was going to rest for awhile but would call me if anything changed.

This morning I got a call at 5:30. "Can you come down?" she asked "because he's already here." !!!!!!!!!!!!!

She had woken up at 1:00am to move positions, her water broke and things went so quickly from there she didn't have time to call anyone. He was born at 4:00am. That means she was awake for THREE HOURS OF HER LABOR!!! I'd like us all to reflect on my very long, grueling and exhausting 21 hour labor a year ago. I didn't even know labors that short were possible! That's ok, cause look at the super adorable nephew she gave me!

He is 8.5 lbs and 19 inches long. He is practically perfect in every way! Except for one thing--he came into this world the same day (Cam and) I came down with food poisoning! :( Oh, this is the worst! I can't go see him until I'm all better. No freshly baked newborns for me to snuggle and kiss!
He hasn't gotten a name yet but check Sissy's blog for more details later.

Last week my mom came up for a visit. We did lots of shopping while she was here and, of course, snuggling with Clementine.

One morning we got up, got dressed and hit the road early to go to the Whatcom Children's Museum. Turns out, the Children's Museum is closed until September! Oops! So instead we took pictures with Clem.

Guitar Hero

Last weekend we were desperate (DESPERATE I tell you!) for something to do. Sharing an 800 sq. foot apartment with a toddler feels like living in a shoe box!!

We tried the park for a little while but it was bloody freezing out there so we came back and tried to conjure up some entertainment.

Cam and I decided to have an impromptu family jamboree.

Clem bopped her head and sang along.
She tried to put her own spin on the music, too.
She was really rockin' out!

I don't know why Cam is wearing his work jacket in the house but these pictures set my heart all aflutter!

Who is this child???

I love looking at pictures of Clem. The pictures I posted of last year's Christmas got me looking through all of our archived pictures. She was such a little tiny thing! Looking at this independent movin' and shakin' little girl today, I sometimes forget that she used to be so little and cuddly! She is growing up so stinking fast! She's getting a new tooth every two weeks or so now and learning about 2 words a week (her latest word is baby--but she says it "BAY-BEE!"). So is SOOOO independent and sweet and growing like a little weed!

I took this picture a few days ago of Clementine waiting so patiently for dinner in her highchair. She looks like such a little lady to me! So grown up. And I've made the decision that there really is nothing cuter than Clementine in overalls!

What a Difference a Year Makes!

Clem's first Christmas in her too big pjs! She was so tiny!

Clem's second Christmas in her adorable jammies. We finally got her to sit still--but notice, she's still holding her rubber ducky!!

Remember this one?? Such a little tiny bug!
