6 months already!!??

Taking a good picture of Clementine is getting a bit tricky these days. She's learned that the beep on the camera means there's a flash comin' so she blinks



or she would rather roll around on the floor than have her picture taken.


Sometimes she yells at me to hurry up.
Often, it's just more fun to make funny faces.



Then we get these gems. Her 6th month "portraits" :)

Yay Em#2!

Aunty Emma came for a visit and couldn't have ordered better Bellingham weather than we had today!
Emma had her first potato burrito at Casa Que Pasa and then was put to work feeding Clementine. Clementine adores all those who feed her.


Then we went for a walk in Fairhaven. The sun was shining, the boats were out...it was lovely! Emma took some beautiful pictures of Clementine and I! I don't really have a lot of good pictures of the two of us together because I'm usually the one behind the lens! It's great to add these lovelies to my collection!

My new 'do

Once upon a time I got regular haircuts, plucked my brows (then drew 'em back in) and wore shirts free of baby vomit or pureed carrots. Those days are no longer. But tonight I got a glimpse of the old me when I got my hair did complete with "toffee colored highlights" (you talked me into in Forina!)
I vowed to keep up the new 'do by straightening it and using actual hair products each day. But then I remembered--that mess on my shirt will end up in my hair if I'm not careful. So the mommy in me remembers to keep a rubber band on my wrist for the projectiles flying from my baby's mouth toward my hair, face and neck. I'll enjoy the hair style tonight knowing tomorrow brings hair clips, rubber bands and several changes of shirts.

Here is some of the latest on Clementina-
1. She has a major rash on her neck, see it? It's on its way to getting better with Dr.'s advice
2. She is sitting like a pro! She sits up all the time, but she has not mastered sitting up and looking at objects--she still falls over
3. She is all signed up to begin daycare in August! I'm both happy and sad. Happy because I know she'll love going but sad because our days at home are numbered
4. She has several new "moves" including craning her neck to look at things, laughing while shoving her fists into her mouth, "talking" and her new favorite trick is taking her binky out of her mouth, examining it from every angle then putting it back in her mouth backward or sideways. She also loves snuggling more than ever because it gives her the chance to play with my schnoz and daddy's goatee.
5. She got weighed at the Dr.'s yesterday She weighs 13lb14ounces--a net gain of 8 ounces in 2 months. Not ideal so we're boosting the feedings (she's just *starving* can't you tell!?) She is now in the 10th percentile for her age group! :(
6. She has become obsessed with our animals. She watches them wherever they go.
7. Her repertoire of baby foods is growing everyday; she now eats rice cereal, carrots, peas and sweet potatoes. All organic, of course. Her favorites are sweet potatoes.
8. She recently became ticklish

Pictures of things that belong to the three of us make my heart go pitter-patter. I love little reminders that we are a family of three now.

A Day in the Life of Clementine

Clementine has it pretty good. In my next life, I want to come back as her! Her day usually goes a little something like this (count the outfit changes!):

She starts her morning chillin' out on the couch watching Elmo

She has a breakfast of rice cereal

Then she helps me with my chores

Then we have some tummy time
That's very tiring so then we (both) need a nap
Bubble time!
Dinner time! Carrots are on the menu!
At the end of a long day, its nice to soak all your troubles away

Clementine has discovered buttons. She loves the buttons on the remote control but a cell phone will do just fine.


Clementine discovered the remote control in Cam's hand. I guess she is one of the few who can wrestle it away!

Jaws

Clementine is getting 2 toofs! There are two little nubs on the top row and I *thought* I felt one on bottom but then it disappeared. She's only been a tiny bit grumpy but she's been chewing on everything she can get her mouth on; mostly our fingers, arms, shirts, her fingers, toys, chairs, Jack's ears...you get the idea.

Last week I was innocently taking pictures of her as she sat in her bouncy chair talking to herself (i.e. being adorable). As I leaned in to get some close ups she ruthlessly grabbed hold of my fingers and nearly chewed them off. Warning, the following pictures are quite graphic


The skilled predator lures her prey by acting adorable-

Big Girl

My little Clementine started eating baby food today! We started with Rice Cereal. Cam and I had fun, Clem still hasn't decided whether or not she liked this stuff. Here's the progression-
