Good news!

Jack is feeling better! His appointment this morning was fine; the doc prescribed more fiber, antibiotics and cuddles (ok, I added in that last part).

Jack was feeling so good that when we took YaYa to see the new house today, he decided to lay down a big deuce in the master bedroom! Good times!

Some Updates:

There is so much goodness happening for us right now. We feel so blessed. We closed on the house on Friday. The keys will be ours tomorrow. We have another month on our lease at the apartment so we will slowly move into the house over the next few weeks. There are a few little projects we want to get to before our living space becomes our official home. I love that we can plan these projects and that they're *ours*. We are looking for house-sized furniture now and bought our first grown up sofa yesterday. It's new and it's big and it's gorgeous. I love it.

Clementine is more adorable and funnier than ever. She has learned to give closed-mouth kisses and to blow kisses, too. I love kisses. She has created words/sounds that are all her own. Her favorite is the word "Bia," and it means all things. She points to her binky, cup, window, sticker, etc. and says "BIA!" she wanders around the house sing-songing "BiaBiaBiaBiaBia" and today at Target was shouting at me "BIABIABIABIABIABIA!!" She loves to play dress: she puts on her coats, shoes, daddy's boxers as a hat and mommy's socks wherever she can fit them. She is more and more fun every day. We can't wait to let her loose in our new space!

The worrisome news in our little family is about our boy Jack. Right around the new year he was diagnosed with a pretty significant anal gland infection along with a number of abscesses. We've been treating it since then and it still hasn't gone away. At the vet this weekend, the vet said we need to get rid of this infection in the next week; our check up is on Saturday morning to discuss our options. Our dream for this house includes the Dude and we want him to know the joy of his own backyard. Please think good thoughts for our canine-son (ok, *my* canine son).

Love is all Around

Valentine's day was a nice, easy going, love filled day.
I found the perfect Clementine-sized arm chair this week while I was out and about. We were going to save it until we moved but decided Valentine's day was a great day.

I set it out in the living room while Cam changed her diaper. It had a little card on it from the two of us, too.

Clementine spent most of Valentine's afternoon climbing on and off her chair. Today was a different story, today she spent the entire day climbing the chair like a monkey. There were several head-first spills off of it!

Finally, sit back and enjoy this...corn on the cob for the first time. Notice the death grip on the cob holding hand.

There's No Place Like Home

We got it! YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!!! We heard today that the house is ours (as long as everything goes ok at inspection)!!!!!! I'm so excited and I just can't hide it! I'm already mentally painting rooms and planting my garden.

We'll be closing on the house sometime between now and March 1--not sure how long we have to wait after inspection. We do know that our inspection is on Thursday at 2:00pm. And we do know that we love this place--it just feels like home.

Here is a picture of our new kitchen; we will clearly be changing the color of the walls very soon!
And half of our backyard. I have BIG plans for this yard!

Peace and Quiet

Yesterday we went for a family walk in the woods. It was so peaceful and so quiet. And the air was so fresh.

There was a lot of fog on the water

and we saw this crazy moss covered monkey tail tree.

Clementine found Sasquatch in the woods; she brought him out to show me.

It's for his own good

Poor Jack. He has an infected hiney. He had a little procedure done on New Year's and has had to have medication applied every day since (guess who was assigned that task????). The infection is still working it's way out of his system but in the mean time we've had to put the cone on his head so he can't lick (obsessively).

He wore this cone the other day and refused to move. He wouldn't come to me when I called, he wouldn't lay down or walk anywhere! He was very confused. But it made for a few good laughs!

Saturday in the Park

We finally had some semi-nice weather on Saturday! We needed it! So we packed up the 'bute (that's our new Mazda Tribute, by the way) and headed to our favorite park for some fresh air and fun.

Clementine loved exploring the toddler sized big toy, swings and slide.
Here she is steering the ship:
And swinging, of course:
We had such a good time out in the 48 degree sunshine!
