Playing Catch Up

Whew, my intention to post a picture a day all  month was thwarted by a baby in a hurry to get moving. I have no time to do anything these days as I scramble to baby proof, wrangle and entertain all at the same time.
So, here's what we've been doing in the meantime:
Clem's school held a square dance in a real life barn last week. We all went. Most of the pictures were just whirring blurs as the kiddos and dancers went spinning past  us. Clem had such a blast dancing with her classmates.
Dutch has started sitting in his high chair at the table. And by "sitting" I really mean wobbling drunkenly in the  high chair.
Clem has been practicing scissor accuracy with some lessons from mama.
This kid comes up with the craziest get ups. I swear, she came with her baby strapped to her front and her suitcase packed. She said "I'm off mom! See you in a few days!"
We have been stuck indoors with Autumn wind and rain. We entertain ourselves any way we know how.
Dutch had his first go at "solid" foods tonight. He got his first taste of rice cereal mixed with breast milk. He wasn't so sure at first,
but he got the hang of it!
(Here is the link to when Dutch's twin, who was born 4.5 years earlier, first tried solids)

Day 11: Prepping

It's almost time for this big boy of ours to start eating his veggies! I have been pureeing all kinds of veggies, some of them even from our garden!
We have carrots, peas, pumpkin and lots of zucchini ready to go.

Day 10: So it begins

This boy is scoot scoot scooting inch-worm style!

Day 9: Dream Weaver

Can you tell she's a bit proud of her weaving project? She says she's made a rainbow blanket for her "babies".

Day 8: Dutch's Law

Dutch's Law reads as follows:
1. Mommy is super busy: SCREAM until she stops what she is doing; then laugh
2. Mommy is wearing her nice clothes: poop and barf on them
3. We need to be somewhere soon: time for a diaper blow out of epic proportions.

On this day I'd had it. During nap time, Dutch had one of his epic diaper blow outs while I was pumping, fielding phone calls, cleaning up from breakfast and making lunch for Clementine. After changing his clothes, wiping him down and washing his hair (yup, it was in his HAIR!!) I sat him down for less than 10 seconds when he then yacked all over his clean clothes.

I decided to forgo clothes and sat him in his chair (it was 75 degrees out and even warmer in the house since I was cooking). He was as happy as clam playing with his feet and blowing raspberries to his heart's content.
