Our Silly Routines
Now that I'm back at work, the three of us are back to carpooling each day. Every morning, we drop Cam off at work, I drop Clementine off at school and then make my way to work. In the afternoon we do the same in reverse.
Most days Clementine and I have time to kill before Cameron is ready to go. We visit and have a snack while we wait. Every single day Clementine will spy Daddy walking out the door to his office and freak out. I mean, she FREAKS out!
Cam doesn't get to see this because the windows are tinted. So a few weeks ago, I taped it. It starts off with Clementine pretending to call Daddy, then she sees him. You'll be able to tell that part. When he waves at her, she goes crazy all over again! Cam finally got to see the eager reception he gets every single day! (I've watched this video approximately 28,038 times already.)
We have another silly routine that I'm itching to get on tape. A few months ago Clementine starting getting a little ornery about getting up the stairs at bedtime. So Cam turned this into a game where he chases Clem and I up the stairs, growling and snarling as he reaches for us. When he catches us at the top of the stairs we get smothered with kisses and hugs. Clementine loves this so much--she squeals and claps and eggs him on every night.
But a few weeks ago Cam fell asleep on the couch and missed chasing us upstairs. When we got to the top, there was no one there to smother us with kisses. Clem stood at the top of the stairs shouting "Daddy! DADDY! Get me!"
We have so much fun with this goofy girl.

Wow!
I wanted to give somewhat of an update as to this amazing little girl blossoming before our very eyes. BIG stuff has been happening around here!
The BEST NEWS is that Clementine peed in the potty this weekend! WOW! We were so happy and proud of her! She seemed mostly confused but I think she's got the idea now.
Her speech is taking off incredibly quickly! Last weekend she learned 5 new words (water, bite, stop, yuck and milk) and today she made her first sentence all by herself. As she finished up her goldfish cracker she said "More fish please." !!!! She is so amazing.
A new big favorite around here is her telling me "STOP!" when I fuss with her hair or try to snuggle when she is busy. This assertive little girl isn't afraid to speak her mind and we love it.
She still uses several signs and we are working on a few others. She is very polite and always gives both the sign and the speech for "please".
Funny little quirks are developing in her personality. She loves to have plenty of napkins and paper towels near her when she eats. She hates to have food on her hands (I do, too!!!) and must wipe off immediately. She has been making up her own little songs and has such a lovely little voice. She knows several food words but lately all food is either an apple or a banana, and all men are called "daddas" and all ladies are called "mommas".
She loves when I wear any kind of jewelry. She touches my necklace and earrings very gently and calls them mama's "pretties".
Clementine desperately wants to be big. To her this means drinking from real glasses and using real utensils. For ages, we couldn't figure out where all her sippy cups were going until one day I caught her in the kitchen, not only throwing the sippy cup in the garbage, but BURYING the sippy cup beneath paper towels so that I wouldn't find it!!! She also wants her own purse, set of keys and cell phone.
I can't believe all the changes I'm seeing as we get closer and closer to TWO! Clementine is so smart, so passionate, so funny and, of course, so beautiful. Every single day is spent treasuring this little bug.
